July 28 and 29 - 2019 - Day 4 and 5 - Middle Point Ohio, Huggy Bear Campground and Kanakee South KOA Chebanse, IL
Ron decided that he should take the back roads to our final destination of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Not such a great idea. The roads were narrow and winding with multiple detours. It took us 6 to 7 hours to travel 225 miles. We were out in the middle of nowhere and had a hard time getting a CG. Ron kept saying "we're out in the middle of nowhere how hard can it be?" Well, it took some time but we were able to secure a site way, way, way in the back lot of this CG with an electrical hook-up. It was quiet back there so worked for us.
You can tell by the picture how far back we were. Worked for us since we were just passing through and had electricity to run our AC. The park was full to capacity in the full hook-up sites. We never saw so many people packed in a pool and hundreds yes hundreds) of golf carts riding around.
July 28, 2019 Day 5 - Kanakee South KOA Chebanse, IL
Another day of miserable driving on back roads with multiple detours. Ron was thinking doing the back road wasn't such a great idea after all. LOL
We stopped at a KOA for the night. We were able to get a pull through site so didn't have to unhook the Jeep.
